THE POLISH STATE

PRESIDENT MOSCICKI RESIGNS GOVERNMENT IN EXILE FORMED IN FRANCE GERMANY OUTMANOEUVRED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright PARIS, September 30. President Moseicki has resigned the Presidency of Poland in favour of M. Rasziewiez, says a Bucharest report. The Polish Government in exile was established, in France when M. Raeziewiez took the oath of office at the Polish Embassy, thereby outmanoeuvring Germany, which hoped that M. Moseicki’s internment in Rumania would prevent the formation of a Government. President Raeziewiez dissolved the old Cabinet and appointed General Sikorski, Premier, and Minister of War, M Stronski, Vice-Premier, M Zeleski. Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Colonel Koc, Minister of Finance. It is reported from Bucharest that Germany considers M Moscicki’s resignation not in accordance with neutrality law and is making representations to Rumania. It is said M Moseicki wrote his resignation the moment he crossed the border from Poland, and handed it to an aide to hold. In any case, it is pointed out that M Moseicki was not imprisoned and his correspondence was not subject to control. POPE’S SYMPATHY • “POLAND NOT GOING TO DIE.” HOPE THAT CATHOLIC LIFE MAY CONTINUE. CASTEL GANDOLFO, September 30 The Pope received a party of Poles. He declared most sorrowfully that hundreds of thousands had been made to suffer in Poland. He hoped, despite the only too well-known plans of God’s enemies, that Catholic life would continue in Poland. “As you shed bitter tears, remember Poland is not going to die,” he added.
