Despite the withdrawal of the Northland, necessitating a change in itinerary, Admiral Byrd is leaving for the Antarctic about November 1 in the Bear Nfirth. He will start with a call to New Zealand, then Little America, after which he will pick up the remainder of his equipment and personnel at Valparaiso.
