HOUSEHOLD HINTS
MAKE A NOTE OF THEM. Burn orange peel on the stove instead of coffee for disagreeable odours —the effect is more pleasant. To remove egg-stains from clothes — wash the spots with cold milk and rub with borax. Wash clean with cold water.
If a pinch of salt is added to the whites of eggs it will make them whip better.
If raisins and currants are rolled in flour before being put into a cake, you will find they will not sink to the bottom.
A piece of fine sandpaper to work against the nap of a shiny garment should not be forgotten. A penny sheet will last a long time.
Except for a painted wall, plaster is a better stop-gap than putty. Mix a little at a time and work quickly.
