MILITARY COMMANDS
APPOINTMENT IN AUSTRALIA

Major-General Sir Thomas Blarney has been appointed to command the division of 20,000 troops being raised for service overseas.
Lieutenant-General E. K. Squires, who is at present Inspector-General and Acting-Chief of the General Staff, will continue to act in that capacity till the termination of his engagement. Lieutenant-General Squires is an Engishman on loan to Australia.
Major-General J. D. Laverack, who has hitherto been Chief of the General Staff, is to be General Officer Commanding Victoria. fTuuth Australia and Tasmania.
