COSY THEATRE
“STUDENT DOCTORS CAN’T
TAKE MONEY.”
“Student Doctors Can’t Take Money,” ■a tense story of a young physician who risked death, forfeited love for a small sum a month and a shot at glory, will be finally shown tonight a't the Cosy Theatre, along with “Wives Never Know.” “TRAPPED IN THE SKY.” Jack Holt tops his own high record of consistently thrilling dramatic and timely films with his newest production, “Trapped in the Sky.” The film, which will be shown tomorrow night, is a sensational, action-tense record of enemy agents whose efforts to sabotage America’s defence machinery are defeated by the courageous, two-fisted star. An amazing new electric airplane—a bomber —has just been invented, perfected and offered to the United States Arms'- Air Corps. Tests are planned with absolute secrecy. But alien enemies want the plane'plans and commit sabotage to prevent the government from accepting the revolutionary new aircraft. The importance and value of this picture may be seen from the list of splendid performers who have major roles in the supporting cast: Ralph Morgan, C. Henry Gordon, Katherine DeMille, Sidney Blackmer, Ivan Lebedeff, Regis Toomey, Holmes Herbert and Guy D’Ennery. “Torchy Blahe,” famous girl reporter character who has been made famous to the film fans by clever Glenda Farrell, will be seen again on the screen in “Blondes at Work,” the title of the second feature. Barton Mac Lane-again has the part of Torchy’s boy friend, Police Lieutenant Steve Mcßride. There’s a murder mystery and of course, Torchy is on the spot to scoop all the newspapers in town with the jury’s verdict. There’s a lot of fun and fast action in it. With the stars in this picture are a capable company including Tom Kennedy, Rosella Towne, Donald Briggs, Thomas E. Jackson, Kenneth Harlan and Betty Compson, one-time queen of the silent pictures.
