PERSONAL ITEMS

Mrs G. McMinn, of Masterton, is a visitor to Napier. Mrs F. Bryant, of Petone, was a visitor to Carterton yesterday. Miss Scott, of Koparaunga, is among the guests staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. Mr and Mrs D. Allen, of Macara Street, Masterton, have returned from a trip to Australia and England. Mr and Mrs W. Allen, of Wellington, are visiting Masterton and are staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Mr and Mrs E. Croft, of Lower Hutt, are the guests of Mrs J. Simpson, Essex Street, Masterton.

Nurse A. Tait, formerly on the staff of the Greytown Hospital, who is in England, has enlisted for military service.

Mr and Mrs L. Styles, Te Horo, are on a visit to Masterton and are among the guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Nurse R. Morison, daughter of Mrs Hugh Morison, of Greytown, who has been nursing in England for the past sixteen months, has enlisted for military work.

Mr and Mrs W. Shirley, of Lincoln Road, Carterton, have returned home after a visit to Whakatane, where they were present at the marriage of their only son, Mr A. W. Shirley. Mrs Harry Hodge, of Alton, Taranaki, who has been a patient in the Wellington Hospital for several weeks, is now the guest of her sister, Mrs F. J. Pike, South Belt, Masterton. At the early age of 27 years, the death took place at a private hospital in Palmerston North on Tuesday of Mrs Joyce Miriam Smith, wife of Mr. H. B. Smith, of Conoor, and formerly of Alfredton. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr Eben Saunders, of Newbury.
