Explosions could be heard ni Romanshorn. GERMAN REPORT RAIDERS ROUTED AND NO BOMBS DROPPED. (Received This Day. 10.15 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 25. The Berlin radio announced that eight French planes were shot down at Friedrichshafen. The raiders were routed and dropped no bombs. ACCOUNT BY RADIO MANY BOMBS DROPPED. According to a Daventry report, the Swiss Army headquarters states that Allied bombers attacked the Zeppelin works at Friedrichshafen. There was very violent fire by defending artillery and, judging by the explosions heard, at least thirty bombs were dropped. Searchlights lit up the sky for two hours. The German High Command has denied reports of the raid. The factory has been ’ making aeroplane motors day and night. Another Daventry report states that, a German wireless message officially admits that French warplanes have bombed Friedrichshaven.
