POLISH SUBMARINE INTERNED IN SWEDEN. (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, September 25. The Polish submarine Zbik, with emergency rations exhausted, surrendered to the Swedish authorities, was disarmed and interned. The Zbik was at sea for 24 days. The five officers and forty-nine men were exhausted. They had been, several times scathlessly in action against German warships, despite the employment of depth charges. CITY IN RUINS WARSAW IN DREADFUL PLIGHT. BUT DEFENCE MAINTAINED. (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) WARSAW, September 25. An official defence communique states that not a single building in Warsaw is intact. Most of the houses and public buildings are in ruins. About a hundred fires have broken out. There have been seven thousand civilian casualties. Nevertheless the morale of the army and people is excellent and the defence continues. FEELING SAFER PARTIAL DEMOBILISATION IN LITHUANIA. (Received This Day, 10.35 a.m.) KAUNAS. September 25. Partial demobilisation has been ordered. This indicates that direct danger to Lithuanian security has diminished.
