Aii analysis of Iho submarine campaign, shows that losses in the first fortnight, despite the German advantage in having U boats at focal points before the declaration of war, were only half in tonnage and one-third in number of the peak month of 1917 in the Great War. Not a ton of British shipping has been lost to submarines since the night of September 18. CREW SAFE SHIP “LOST AT SEA." (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, September 22. The British steamer Arkleside has been lost at sea. It is understood that the crew is safe.
