CLEAN SWEEP OF IRON GUARD REPRISAL FOR MURDER OF M. CALINESCU RESTORATION OF.ORDER IN RUMANIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) BERLIN, September 22. The Official News Agency states that the Rumanian Government has made a clean sweep of the last members of the Iron Guard, executing them throughout Rumania as a reprisal for M. Calinescu's assassination. Order is claimed to have been restored. The British United Press Bucharest correspondent says that at least 113 persons have been executed. THOUSANDS INTERNED IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS. UNDER M. CALINESCU’S DECREE. (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, September 22. The Associated Press of America Bucharest correspondent recalls that thousands of persons have been in concentration camps throughout the year as a result of M. Calinescu’s decree. The correspondent adds that mass executions are continuing among these persons. AMERICAN SYMPATHY (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) WASHINGTON, September 22. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, sent a message of condolence to the Rumanian Foreign Minister, Dr. Gafencu, expressing the deepest sympathy in the death of M. Calinescu.
