The flag at the Dunedin Town Hall will be flown every day as an emblem of loyalty to the King and the Empire. The Mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) said that it would also be a reminder of the liberty and privileges New Zealanders enjoyed, under its protection. Every day they could express their determination to do their utmost in the defence of those privileges and of the smaller nations of the world.
