GREYTOWN
FAREWELL GATHERING PRESENTATION TO MISS BULL. (“Times-Age” Special.) A gathering took place in the Parish Hall. Greytown, yesterday afternoon for the purpose of bidding Miss Beth Bull farewell. Miss Bull, who is a qualified nurse, will leave New Zealand shortly for England, where she intends entering a hospital. The number of friends present was proof of the esteem in which Miss Bull is held. Items were given as follow: —Pianoforte duet, Mesdames H. Farley and H. G. Carter; songs, Mrs T. G. R. Ingley and T. Gold; recitations, Miss Keddell. Mrs J. F. Thompson presented Miss Bull with a fountain pen and eversharp pencil in a leather case, and also a leather-bound trip book from those present. Miss Bull, in responding, thanked Mrs Thompson and the ladies who had arranged the gathering and for their gifts. Miss Bull was accorded musical honours. Afternoon tea was handed round. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Barnard, W. G. K. Wiggins, R. Vile, J. F. Thompson. A. Nisbet, D. Fairbrother and Balfour. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem brought the gathering to a conclusion. Before leaving those present signed their names in the trip book. Hockey Teams. At 3 p.m. tomorrow the Greytown Scouts will play the club team. The Greytown Scouts team will be as follows:—Williams, Skeet, Anker, Rees, Trotman, Trotman, Brabender, Anker, Day, Jury, Hobson. The club team is: Greathead, Raison, Keltic, Dawber, Connolly, Barnard, Harris, Morgan, Dennis, Bouzaid, McKenzie. Ladies’ Golf.
A medal round will be played on Saturday when partners will be drawn •at the Club House at 1 o’clock.
