BODY DISCOVERED

IN RIVER AT TE WHITT. The body of an elderly man. believed to be that of Mr John Francis Bowdon, who disappeared from his home in Hope Street. Masterton. last Wednesday has been discovered in the Ruamahanga River at To Whiti. Investigations are being made by the Masterton police The body was seen caught in some willows in the middle of the river near the Te Whiti Soldiers' Settlement. It was found to be impossible to reach the site from the To Whiti side of the river and the police found it necessary to cross over to the other side before it could be recovered. There appears to be no doubt that it is the body of the missing man Bowden.
