OFFICIALLY DENIED BY GERMANY “ISOLATED ARRESTS” WARDING OFF MACHINATIONS OF BENES CLIQUE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) BERLIN, September 21. The official news agency describes British and French reports of revolt in Bohemia and Moravia as completely unfounded. It adds that isolated arrests were made at the beginning of the war, in order to ward off “the machinations of “the Benes clique.” SLOVAK GUERILLAS SMALL ARMY IN TARA ’ MOUNTAINS. NAZIS SET AT DEFIANCE. (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) PARIS. September 21. The military correspondent of “Excelsior” says guerilla warfare against Germany has been going on for several weeks in the Upper Tatra district of Northern Slovakia. The Slovakian chief, Sidor, who refused to join the Austra-Hungarian army in 1914. heads a small independent army which is camping in the mountains, and frequently swoops down on territory occupied by the Germans, who, so far, have not dared to venture into the hill country.
