GOEBBELS ARRESTED
ACCORDING TO GERMAN FREEDOM PARTY HITLER’S SPEECH WORSE THAN BAD HARVEST. PEOPLE URGED TO RISE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, September 21. The German Freedom Party’s secret radio station, again bitterly attacking the Hitler regime, declared that the Minister of Propaganda, Dr Goebbels, has been arrested- and put in close confinement. It added: "Herr Hitler’s speech is one continuous lie. It is being said throughout Germany that the speech from Herr Hitler is worse than a bpd harvest. You Germans have power to sabotage his factories, destroy the harvest and paralyse the traffic. Every shell failing to explode is shot in the heart of the hated enemy. Every ton of coal unmined is a blow to the regime. Every penny withdrawn from the savings bank will be missed, but Herr Hitler cannot deceive us. “We cannot win the war with the blood of 80,000,000 Germans, and Herr Hitler has no other resources., Britain and France have invested only part of their revenue in the war; Germany has spent all her reserves in advance.” The German Freedom Party’s broadcast was jammed out after 20 minutes. The announcer also said: “Herr Hitler has no chance of uniting the German people behind him. He will have to capitulate. He hasn't a chance. It is, therefore, better for the German people to rise and defeat him than to let him be defeated by others and go down with him.” RUMOUR DENIED BLAME PLACED ON FOREIGN PROPAGANDISTS. (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) BERLIN, September 21. Dr Goebbels, in the course of a Press interview, said: “Foreign propagandists are responsibile for a rumour that I am dead or imprisoned.” He denied that Germany was contemplating violation of the Belgian and Dutch frontiers.
Daventry reports that Dr Goebbels, who was reported to have been attested, received representatives of the foreign Press in Berlin. He denied that there were any differences Between himself and the Nazi Government.
