SOUTH AFRICAN GIFT
£1,000.000 WORTH OF FOOD FOR BRITAIN. (By Telegrapn—Press Association.) LONDON, September 21. The Johannesburg correspondent of “The, Times” says that the city council is sponsoring a campaign to raise £1.000,000 for the dispatch of local surpluses of eggs, butter, sugar and other foodstuffs to Britain frei>of all charges as a gift. Assurances of support already are forthcoming from all parts of the Union.
