NEEDS ATTENTION NOW. The rock garden should be overhauled now. . The soil between the plants will need stirring, and great benefit will result from dressings _of prepared compost. Mat and cushion forming plants that are becoming worn out will especially benefit by this treatment. A suitable compost for the purpose consists of two parts loam or good garden soil, one part leafmould or peat, and one part of stone chippifig.
