EKETAHUNA SALE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report on their Eketahuna sale yesterday as follows: A small yarding of sheep and dairy cattle were offered in conjunction with the advertised entry of run cattle which came forward up to advertised numbers. Dairy cattle and sheep sold at late rates but the demand for station cattle was slow due no doubt to the lateness of spring growth. However, vendors were apparently satisfied with prices offered and we report a total clearance as under: —
Sheep: S.m. ewes with 100 per cent lambs, Ils, all counted: very small ewe lambs. 14s Id; med wether hoggets. 15s. Dairy cattle: Cows. best, close to profit. £ll, £9 2s 6d. £9 to £8 15s: heifers. small, on drop. £8 12s 6d, do spg. £6 10s.
Run cattle: 3yr steers. £6 6s. £6 2s to £5 Us; 2yr do. £6'6s £5 10s to £4 4s; yearling do. £3 7s 6d to £3 2s 6d; yearling heifers. 31s to £1: 2yr do. £2 13-. io £2 16s; 3vr do. £4 7s: empty station cows r.w.b., £2 9.-: to £3 6s.
