INCREASES IN NEW SOUTH WALES. UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF & SOCIAL SERVICES. By Telegraph—Press: Association—Copyright. (Received This Day. 12.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Details of increased taxation for unemployment relief and social services were announced by the Treasurer (Mr Richardson) in the Legislative Assembly. The new rates operate from October 1 and will bring the total taxation of this financial year for unemployment relief to £8,4-12,000. The amounts payable will be substantially increased for every class of wageearner. Single persons formerly exempt on wages not exceeding £3 a week must now pay tax if they earn £2 or more. In addition to increases in wages tax, the Government proposes increases in the income tax. company tax and probate tax.
