s> ARMIES STILL FIGHTING IN POLAND ATTACK ON THE CAPITAL RENEWED. TERRORISM IN CZECH TERRITORY. The following Daventry reports have been rebroadcast by the New Zealand national stations: — Although the Germans claim that the Polish war is virtually over. Polish armies are still holding out in two or throe areas. The Germans admit heavy fighting west of Warsaw and the attack on the capital has been resumed. Polish troops west of Warsaw report considerable success. German artillery is shelling Warsaw. It is reported that coal mines in Upper Silesia are out of action on account of deliberate flooding and that it will be a year before they can be worked. It is reported that there is another outburst of Nazi terrorism in the Czech territories. A revolt is said to have broken out in the great Skoda Works. Hundreds of arrests were made by the Gestapo and many executions have taken place. LOSSES IN COURAGEOUS. A total of 589 officers and men are still listed as missing from the aircraft carrier Courageous. It is unlikely that there are any survivors from the German submarine. Destroyers dropped depth charges and a rating said he saw the submarine blown straight out of the water and then disappear. It is claimed that French guns on the Western front are proving superior to German guns of similar calibre. The Germans have been compelled to withdraw several of their artillery units. Japan states that she is not going to allow Germans ships to be armed in Japanese ports, as this would be a breach of neutrality. SPEECH BY HITLER. The Russian Government is displeased at the action of Estonia in allowing a Polish submarine to escape. It alleges Estonian connivance. Lithuania is again putting forward her claims to Vilna.
