PATRIOTIC FUNDS
MINISTER AGAIN URGES HALT. UNTIL REGULATIONS ARE IN FORCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government anticipates being able to publish early next week emergency regulations dealing with patriotic funds to be established during the war. Concern was expressed, today by the Minister of Internal Affairs. Mr Parry, that despite the fact that the Government had outlined the position with regard to the raising of war funds, a number of bodies in New Zealand were launching campaigns for the collection of donations for war purposes. The Government felt, added the Minister, that it was essential that bodies already in the field soliciting donations should call a halt. He earnestly asked that all arrangements already made and proposed to be made be deferred until the regulations had been issued.
