“CRICKET AS USUAL”
FULFILLING NATIONAL DUTY. N.Z. COUNCIL'S APPEAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. In support of the views expressed by the New Zealand Government the New Zealand Cricket Council appeals to all associations clubs, and cricketers to maintain their competitions as far as possible during the coming season. In doing so they will be fulfilling a national duty and rendering useful service to the community generally. It is understood that in so doing players will not allow cricket to interfere with their military obligations.
