SPECIAL FORCE
OVER ELEVEN THOUSAND MEN ENROLLED RESULTS OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION. HELD VERY SATISFACTORY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Up to 8 o’clock last night, 11,442 men had enlisted in the special force now being formed for service within New Zealand or overseas. So far 6933 men have been medically examined, and the result, expressed in percentages, ie: Fit, 571 per cent; temporarily unfit,. 29 per cent; permanently unfit. 131 per cent. In view of the very high standard of fitness required for this force, these figures are held to be very satisfactory, and it is pointed out that a majority of the temporarily unfit men will be classed as fit when, their teeth have been attended to.
