BREST LITOVSK MEETING ZONES OF OCCUPATION TO BE DEFINED. JOINT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED. (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, September 18. A German official radio announced that Russian and German troops who met at Brest Litovsk exchanged diplomatic courtesies and began negotiations in order to define their respective zones of occupation. Meanwhile the Helsinki correspondent of the London “Times” reports an almost unimpeded advance of the Russian troops into White Russia. Russian bombers destroyed the Polish border station of Sniatyn. The Moscow correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” states that the Polish Ambassador has been ordered to leave Russia immediately for Rumania, with his entire staff.

A Moscow message, reports the issue of a German-Soviet communique which states: “In order to forestall unfounded rumours, the Russian and German Governments declare that their troops are not acting contrary to the interests of German and Russia, nor are they contradicting the spirit and letter of the Russo-German Non-Ag-gression Pact. On the contrary, their task is to establish peace in Poland and assist its population to- reconstitute* its normal existence.” COMPLETE CHAOS ATTEMPTED DICTATORSHIP IN WARSAW. The “Berlingske Tidende’s” Riga correspondent reports that General Sonkowski. a former friend of Marshal Pilsudski, yesterday attempted to establish a military dictatorship in« Warsaw. Marshal Smigly-Rydz frustrated the attempt. “Now that the Government has fled,” it is stated, “there is complete chaos in the High Command.” DEFENCE OF LITHUANIA MOBILISATION VIRTUALLY COMPLETE. (Received This Day. 11.55 a.m.) NEW YORK. September. 18. The United Press Kovno correspondent says Lithuania is virtually totally mobilised. All reservists up to 40 were called to the Colours as the Soviet troops drove within a few miles of toe eastern frontier.
