VALUE OF THE CONQUEST OF POLAND. INCREASED GOAL & METAL SUPPLIES. Lv Teh»granh—Press Association —Copyright NEW YORK. September 17. The Berlin correspondent of the “New York Times - ' says the strength of the German war economy has been increased as the result of the ac-quisi-■lion of the rich Polish coal and ore deposits. A supply, sufficient for the duration of. the war. of coal, iron and other minerals is believed to bo secure. Increases in Germany's production as a result of this are estimated- as follows: Coal. 25 per cent: iron ore, 9.000,000 tons a year: steel and iron, 260.000 tons a year: and zine. 50 per cent. It is believed that these figures can be increased by the application of high-pressure methods. It is claimed that the mines and factories are practically undamaged. Austrian and German engineers installed much equipment before the war. and it is therefore cxnected that production can proceed without, a hitch.
