ADVANCE ON WIDE FRONT RUSSIA MOBILISES 4,500,000 MEN. ■ GERMANS WITHIN 100 MILES OF BORDER. (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) MOSCOW, September 17. First reports indicate a Russian occupation along almost the entire length of the frontier of approximately five hundred miles, from Polosk to Manenez Podolsk. As German motorised units reached within a hundred miles of the Soviet border, the Soviet mobilised further classes, makihg a strength bf nearly 4,500,000 men.
