DEFAULTER AT RANDWICK.

LEG IMPROVED.

SYDNEY, September 17.

Defaulter appeared at Randwick on Saturday and cantered round the spec-ially-watered grass track, after which he was examined by a veterinary surgeon. His leg showed considerable improvement, but apparently he is still a long way from fit. The veterinary advised that he be given a spell and should certainly not be raced for the next two months. A report in’ regard to Ajax in Melbourne reveals that he is lame but it is not certain whether the seat of the trouble is in the foot or the shoulder.
