Some forts were blown, up, but the citadel is still holding out. “In Polisli Galicia we captured the oilfields at Jaslo and Boryslav, after successfully turning the fortified ions of Przemysl.” The German right wing south of Lwow has continued to advance with motorised units towards Hordenka, in an attempt to close the Polish-Rumanian frontier and cut off the retreat of the Polish armies. Reports'indicate that the Polish line along the Carpathians is turned as far'as Stanislawow. SYSTEMATIC DESTRUCTION German Bombing of Open Towns N NO CONNECTION WITH MILITARY OBJECTIVES (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) WARSAW, September 15. A Polish communique states that the German bombardment of open towns has assumed the character of systematic destruction, all in built-up areas and cities not connected with military objectives.
