CHURCH SERVICES

Patronal festival services in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of ' the erection of their first church in Masterton begin at St. Matthew’s Church tomorrow. All communicants are asked to join in'Holy Communion at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. or 1-1 a.m. In the evening there will be a musical service, and at all services intercession will be made for the world situation. The usual services will be held at Taueru, Rangitumau, Kopuaranga and Kuripuni. The Rev. David McNeur will conduct spring Sunday services at the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church tomorrow. The flowers donated will afterwards be given to the hospital. “A study of this war question” will be the subject of the address at the Methodist Church tomorrow evening, when the service will be conducted by the Rev Fred J. Parker. .The morning service at 11 a.m. will be conducted by Mr C. R. Goudge. The choir will hold a song service at the public hospital at 3 p.m. At the Kuripuni Methodist church tomorrow the morning service will be conducted by the Rev Fred J. Parker, with the service of Holy Communion following. At 6.50 cars leave for the town church service. • The Methodist service at Mount Bruce at'2 p.m. tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev Fred J. Parker. The service of the Baptist Fellowship will be held in the Y.M.C.A. hall at 11 a.m. tomorrow and will be conducted by Mr W. Teeboon. All interested are invited to attend. On Tuesday evening at 7.30 o’clock the week night fellowship will be conducted by the Rev Hayes Lloyd. The order of the musical service by St. Matthew’s Choir on Sunday night is as follows: Two anthems, “Hearken Unto Me” (Sullivan), “Hark Hark My Soul” (Shelly); soloists, Mrs Moss and Miss Robinson. A solo by Miss Edith Ralph ,“Cast Thy Burden” (Hamblin), an anthem “Blessed be to God and Father” (Wesley); soloists, Mrs Moss, Miss Grace Gaudin and Mr Archer Hale. A solo. “Lord God of Abraham” (Mendelsohn) by Mr L. Dilnot Wales, and two concluding anthems, “Haosanna to the Highest” (Stainer), soloist Mr Archer Hale and Mozart s “Gloria.” The choir will be under the direction of Mr Wm. C. Mann With Mr A. Miller Hope at the organ. The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by LieuiColonel and Mrs Macaulay. The Colonel was a padre during the world war, and is looking forward to making contact with many of the Diggers in the district during his visit io Masterton. The Colonel is a fluent speaker and a powerful exponent of the Gospel, with timely messages for these troublesome times. All are heartily invited to these services.
