“LUCKY DIP”
OPERA HOUSE NEXT WEEK. Frank Vosper ha§ provided many humorous situations in “Lucky Dip,’ 5 which is to be presented by the Little Theatre Society at the Opera House on Tuesday and Wednesday next. More than this, the unexpected introduction of a magic note gives added point to the humour of the play, and its equally unexpected removal provides for the audience that sense of relief that changes trepidation to hilarity. A tragic role demands great skill and natural ability, and these are said to be displayed to the full by Miss'Nora Robinson, in her portrayal of a distraught lady. In her difficult and exacting part, she is associated chiefly with Mr P. L. Claridge, Who is credited performances of great ability. So interwoven are the two parts, that the excellence of each performer is essential to successful performance by the other. They are further assisted by Mr Graham Dickel, Who is entrusted with the task of pouring oil on the troubled waters, Mr Neal M. Irwin and Mr Douglas (a retired brigadier-gen-eral). The box plan for both evenings is filling up Messrs Steele and Bull’s.
