On July 26 some optimistic artists in Poland posted numbers of communications to all parts of the world. The ones addressed to Christchurch arrived the other day—entry forms for photographers wishing to send work to the eleventh international salon of the Polish Photographic Society to open in Warsaw on October 15. The salon would celebrate the centennial of photography in Poland. One of the regulations given in English states: “The Polish Photographic Society will bring her utmost care in handling of pictures without assuming whatever responsibility for damages which may arise during the transport or exhibition of same.”
