A LIVING INSTITUTION MR A. GREENWOOD’S BELIEF. HATED: SYMBOL TO HITLER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 13. In the course of a speech in the House of Commons today, the acting Leader of the Opposition, Mr Greenwood, spoke of the part which Parliament must play in the struggle in which the nation is now engaged. Wartime technique, he said, must be developed which would maintain Parliament as a living institution. “I believe that in this war the British Parliament will be a hated symbol to Herr Hitler. 'lt will grow in power during this war and will not become an atrophied organ of an effete body.” Mr Greenwood said.
