INTOXICATED MOTORIST

CABINETMAKER FINED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A fine of £2O. with costs, was imposed by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, yesterday, when Joseph Christie McMahon, cabinetmaker, aged 34, for whom Mr J. A. Meltzer appeared, pleaded guilty to being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car in Featherston Street on September 9. McMahon’s licence was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining another before March, 1941. He was allowed one month in which to pay the fine.
