Stephens, of Wellington, has joined the musical staff of St Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls. Mr and Mrs Littlejohn, Gisborne, are visitors to Masterton and are staying at the Empire Hotel. Mrs K. Allen, of Featherston, has returned from a visit to the South Island. Miss D. Harrod, Eketahuna, is on a visit to Masterton and is staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Mrs H. Cundy, of Featherston, who spent two weeks in Dannevirke, has returned home. Mrs C. Thelwall, of Hastings, is on a visit to Masterton, and is staying at the Hotel Midland. Mrs*S. M. Baird, Cole Street, Masterton, who had been staying with her daughter, Mrs Glendinning, Wairoa, has returned to Masterton. Miss Barnard, of Temuka, who has been visiting Featherston, is now spending a few days in Greytown prior to returning home. Mrs E. M. Hodder and family, Second Street, Lansdowne, who had been visiting Paraparaumu Beach, have returned to Masterton. Mrs Clachan has returned from Australia and is staying with her sister Mrs S. M; Baird, Cole Street, Masterton. Miss E. J. Short has commenced duties at St Matthew’s Collegiate School, Masterton, in the capacity of sports mistress. Miss Short, who was born in South Africa, has had teaching experience in a girls’ school in Natal and also in England. She took a course at the Chelsea College of Physical Education in furtherance of her studies.
