SUGGESTED GIFT TO BRITAIN FROM AUSTRALIA. (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Mr Curtin, Leader of the Federal Opposition, resuming the debate on the Budget in the House of Representatives, suggested that as Australia had immense food resources the Budget should provide for the gift of a million pounds worth of food supplies to the people of Britain.
