German Salient Sliced Off STEADY ADVANCE ON SIXTY-MILE FRONT MOVE TOWARDS THE WEST WALL (By Telegraph—Press Association.— Copyright.) ' (Received This Day, 12.10 p.m.) PARIS, September 12. A steady advance on a sixty-mile front in the approach to the West Wall is reported. The Press states that the French artillery bombarded the outskirts of Saarbrucken. French troops observed the twenty-fifth anniversary of the first Battle of the Marne by slicing off a German salient; from the Saar to Blies Rivers, in. a twelve-hour fight.
