AGAINST AMERICAN STEAMERS CARRYING CONTRABAND. USE OF SUBMARINES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) BERLIN, September 12. Authorised sources have warned American steamers carrying contraband that they may be submarined and added that the German use of submarines to prevent goods reaching England was only to the extent that Britain blockades Germany. A spokesman said: “It is an eye for an eye, butter for butter.”
