ALLIED LEADERS MEET IN FRANCE CONCENTRATION OF POWERS. ALL POSSIBLE ASSISTANCE FOR POLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 9 a.m.) PARIS, September 12. It is officially stated that the Allied Supreme Council met somewhere in France today. Mr Chamberlain and M. Daladier attended. The hitler’s office issued a,statement that it was decided to concentrate all the Allied Powers’ resources on the war and to give Poland all possible assistance. Nothing was known about the meeting until M Daladier returned to Paris. It was said that Mr Chamberlain requested the meeting in order to have the Allies take up a final position regarding the question of a separate peace with the Germans. It is reported that the question of Italy’s position as a neutral was also discussed. General Gamelin and Lord Chatfield were present. PURPOSE OF. MEETING DIRECT & PERSONAL EXCHANGE OF VIEWS. (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, September 12. The Ministry of Information says the purpose of the meeting “was to make possible a direct, personal exchange of views on the present situation and on measures to be taken in the immediate future.” i Mr Chamberlain and Lord Chatfield flew to France and back in a Royal Air Force machine. IN DEADLY EARNEST BRITISH & FRENCH WAR PLANS. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, September 12. Giving No 10, Downing Street, as its source, the Ministry of Information said that the British and French representatives, at their meeting, were completely unanimous on war plans and that Britain and France had now got down to brass tacks and made it plain for the world to see that they were tackling their job in deadly earnest.
