It is officially announced that the Assistant Secretary of State, Mr Sumner Welles, will be the United States delegate to the Pan American conference on September 21. The American Red Cross is sending Poland 50,000 dollars’ worth of hospital goods and blankets. A sum of 25.000 dollars has been advanced to the American hospital in Paris. Paul Gurtler, Herr Hitler’s immediate superior in the Great War. who enlisted in the Canadian Army, failed to pass the medical examination and was rejected.
