GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS SEMI-FINALS DECIDED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The semi-finals for the championships were decided during the week • end in conjunction with a round for the handicap cup. In the ladies’ section Mrs Nitz won from Miss Schofield by default and Miss M. Taylor defeated Mrs Read. In the men’s division H. Paku defeated M. Paku and W. Kummer beat N. Kummer. The best card handed in for the handicap cup was Mrs lan McGregorr’s 71 and that of E. Nitz with a net 66 for the men. Mrs Bannister defeated Mrs A. Me Gregor in a Kummerstein Cup match. Next Saturday the finals for the clul championships will be played when H. Paku will play W.. Kummer over 36 holes for the men, and Mrs Nitz will meet Miss M. Taylor over 27 holes foi the ladies’ championship cup. The final round for the handicap cup will also be played in conjunction with a stableford bogey. Mrs Bannister- will, play Mrs McKinstry in a Kummerstein Cup challenge and I. McGregor will meet S. Gray ir a Nimmo Cup match. Golf Ball. The postponement of the annual goF ball was mainly caused by the petrol restrictions and the very unsettled in ternational conditions that have exist ed recently. However it was not decided to abandon the fixture altogether and possibly this very popular func tion may be held in the very near future.
