TWO YOUTHS KILLED
TRAGEDY NEAR AUCKLAND. MOTOR CYCLE HITS TRUCK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 10. A motor-cyclist and his pillion passenger were killed instantly when the machine collided with the back of a stationary motor-truck on the Great North Road, near Waikumete (now known as Glen Eden,. 11 miles from Auckland) about 10.15 o’clock tonight. The victims were: Peter William Scott, aged 20, West Coast Road, Glen Eden,' the rider of the motor-bicycle. Philip Henry Double, aged 20, Taylor Street, Avondale. After delivering a supply of milk i in the city during the evening Mr Frank Arthur Woodbridge, farmer, Wharepapa, was driving a motor-truck home when the petrol ran out. He was waiting for further petrol to arrive, seated in the cab of the truck with Mrs . Woodbridge and two young children, when the accident occurred. Getting out of the truck Mr Woodbridge found two young men lying apparently dead at the roadside. A passing motorist went to the nearest house. and telephoned for the police, a doctor and the St John Ambulance. When the doctor arrived both men were dead.
