The view that sport should be kept before the public as much as possible while present world conditions existed was expressed by Mr. J. E. Jones, president of the Canterbury Football Association, at its meeting. Mr. Jones made the statement during a discussion on the reported possibility of the Otago association’s not sending its representative team to Christchurch on September 16 to play Canterbury for the Jones Cup. Mr. F. T. H. Bell said that the association should carry on while it could. It would be time for such measures when conditions demanded it.
