GOLF COMPETITIONS LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIPS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the draw for the second round of the ladies’ championships to be played on the Taratahi links on Saturday next: — Seniors: Mrs Callender v. Mrs Booth; Mrs Orr v. Miss Welch. Juniors: Miss M. Campbell v. Miss Knutson; Miss P. Renall v. Mrs Forbes; Miss Ross v. Miss M. Smart; Miss N. Renall v. Mrs Murray. The folowing will play a medal round:—Miss Berrill and Mr,s Harrington; Mrs Moroney and Mrs Candy; Mrs Colson and Miss Lamb; Miss Anderson and Mrs Goodin; Mrs Riggs and Mrs R. N. Campbell; Mrs M. Campbell and Miss Hamer; Miss Armstrong and Miss Peters; Miss I. Corlett and Miss J. Booth; Miss Steven and Miss J. Orr; Mrs Gustofson and Miss V. Corlett; Miss Crawley and Miss Lane. Miss Armstrong and Mrs Gustofson will be in charge of afternoon tea. MEN’S CLUB. The following is the draw for tho semi-final of the Club Championship: No 1 tee, senior: Fisher v Steel or George Goodin v Moroney. Junior: Gustofson v Dwane; Forbes v Harringt°The remaining members of the club will play the second round of a medal competition. The draw is as follows:— No 1 tee: Clark v Dudson: B. Beaven v George; Lane v Krahagen; B. Booth v Whitburn; R. Lawrence v Taverner; Taylor v Smart; Shankland v F. Hill. No 3 tee: Brown v Riggs; Kiddie v Colson; Fitzgerald v J. Lawrence; Hart v Hughes; Roydhouse v Candy. No 17 tee: S. Hill v Callender; E. T. Beaven v Jackson; Tankersley v Harry. BOY SCOUTS CARD TOURNEY. The weekly card tournament in connection with the Boy Scout movement was held last evening. Card prizes were won as follows: —Ladies, Mrs Holland 1, Mrs Edwards 2. Men, Mrs Meyrick (acting) 1, Mr Amundsen 2. Slipper was afterwards supplied. BABY CARNIVAL POSITION OF CANDIDATES. The latest figures in connection with the Baby Carnival which is being run by the W.D.F.U. are as follows:—Parkvale, Dorothy Rayner 1; Taratahi - Belvedere, John Corbett 2; Dalefield, Dermot Fitzgerald 3. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE SOCIAL AT PARKVALE. The Parkvale Hall was well filled on Monday evening when a social organised by Mrs B. Renall was held in aid of the Parkvale Women’s Institute funds. Euchre and table tennis were played until supper time. The winners were:—Euchre: Ladies, Mrs C. Jensen, Senr, 1, Mrs O'Keefe 2. Men, Mr C. Jensen, Senr, 1, Mr H. F. Rayner 2. Table tennis, Mr W. Adams and Miss M. Andrews. \ , A dainty supper was served and appreciated. A dance followed. The winners of the Monte Carlo were Miss L. Rayner and Mr A. H. Deller. A cake and dinner were disposed of during the evening, the dinner being won by Mrs B. Johnston and the cake by Mr C. Bliss. METHODIST GUILD SHOP DAY ARRANGEMENTS. At the monthly meeting of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild a vote of sympathy was directed to be conveyed to Mrs Herb Peters, of South Carterton, in the bereavement suffered by the death of her father, Mr Windley, of Otaki. Acknowledgment was received of clothing which had been sent to Sister Dobby, at Hokianga, for the Maoris. Final arrangements were made for the Guild Shop Day in the Band Room on Friday, September 8. Afternoon tea was provided by Misses Arcus and King.
