SUBMARINE HUNT
BRITISH NAVAL DRIVE ATTACKS IN SEVERAL PLACES. BEGINNING OF DETERMINED EFFORT. LONDON, September 6. It is announced that British warships have attacked German submarines in several places as the beginning of a determined effort to drive them outof the North sea, the Channel and the European sector of the Atlantic, following attacks on several British merchantmen. TACTICS OF SECRECY STATEMENT BY ADMIRALTY. (Received This Day, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON. September 6. The Admiralty states that it should be realised that it is not always desirr able to publish details of destruction or damage to enemy submarines. Therefore it should not be assumedthat no'successes had been achieved.
