GERMAN PLANES
IN FLIGHT OVER PARIS MET BY ANTI-AIRCRAFT FIRE. POPULACE TAKE SHELTER IN GOOD ORDER. NEW YORK, September 5. The Paris correspondent of the Associated Press of America, states that several planes, presumably German, flew over the city at 3.14 a.m. They were met by anti-air craft fire. Flares were sent aloft. Explosions were not heard in the centre of the city. Following an air raid warning later the Paris populace went to the shelters in perfect order and good naturedly. Based on their boring experiences previously they carried books, playing cards and even crime thrillers. Everyone is trying to arrange for greater comfort in the event of alarms becoming a nightly occurrence. Occupants of the shelters from all classes are developing great camaraderie.
