CARTERTON WEDDING

BONE—BARBER. (■'Times-Age” Special.) St. Mark’s Church was filled _ with guests on Saturday evening to witness the marriage of Adele Jenny, younger daughter of Mr. C. H. Barber and the late Mrs. Barber, of Carterton, to Allan Edward William, only son of Mr and Mrs. H. A. Bone, of Nelson. The Rev. W. F. Stent was the officiating clergyman, and Mrs. Bath presided at the organ, playing “Oh Father of all Creating.” The church had been most effectively decorated with beautiful blossoms and spring flowers by friends of the bride. The bride entered the church escorted by her father. She wore a lovely gown of cream taffeta with shirred bodice, deep square neckline, with orange blossoms across the front, long sleeves with much fullness at the shoulders, full skirt from the waist with pleated godets at the side, and a long train fanpleatcd. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place with lily of the valley and worn over the face. She carried a cascade-effect bouquet consisting of white camellias, white cyclamen and lily of the valley.

The attendants of the bride were' Mrs. J. V. Gustofsen (sister of the bride), and Miss E. M. Bone (sister of the bridegroom). They were attired in frocks of midnight blue taffeta with rucked bodice and narrow straps across the shoulders holding full short sleeves. The skirts were four-gored with sun-ray pleated godet continued to form a train. Cyclamen velvet sashes were worn and head sprays of cyclamen hyacinth to tone with the bouquets which were of cyclamen and hyacinths. They wore blue butterfly rin/s, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. J. Sargisson, of Feilding, was best man and Mr. H. E. Barber (brother of the bride) groomsman. The reception was held at the State Ballroom, which had been transformed into an attractive lounge and most beautifully decorated with spring blossoms and lovely spring flowers. Miss Olga Barber and Mrs. E. A. Bohe received the guests. Miss Barber wore a frock of floral satin in shades of scarlet, with a head dress of scarlet berries and carried a bouquet of red anemones and sweet peas. Mrs. Bone was attired in lacquered clover georgette with a clover shaded toque and carried a bouquet of daphne and June roses in clover tonings. The toast “’The King” was proposed by Mr. L. J. Fairbrother; that of the bride and bridegroom by the Rev. W. F. Stent; “The Bridesmaids” by the bridegroom and replied to by Mr. J. Sargisson. After the reception, the floor .was cleared for dancing, which* continued merrily until midnight. The bride’s going-away frock was a petrel green ensemble, with black accessories. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Bone will be in Paeroa.
