CRIPPLED CHILDREN
WORK OF THE WAIRARAPA SOCIETY.
At the fortnightly meeting of the Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society three new cases were reported. In one case, the child had been medically examined and a small operation to one of the feet was recommended. Arrangements to have this done are being made. A youth who is desirous of obtaining employment proposes to spend a week in Wellington where the secretary and welfare officer will, it is hoped, be successful in obtaining a suitable position for him. Satisfactory financial arrangements have been concluded foxoperative treatment for a baby boy born with a palate disability. An operation is to be carried out by a specialist completely to remove the disability. In a similar case, ways and means are being explored to have a series of operations carried out. As soon as the costs .have been provided for, the youth will proceed to Wellington foxadmission to hospital.
