The correspondent of the Associated Press of America in Paris states that fighting’ appears to be general along the 200mile Rhine frontier. French troops are reported to be hammering at the “Burgundy Gates,’’ the valley enclosed by the Vosges and the Alps northward from the conjunction of the French, German and Swiss frontiers. A further offensive is reported in the Moselle Valley. The Brussels correspondent of the Associated Press of America reports that heavy gunfire from the direction of the German border, reminiscent of 1914, was heard at Luxembourg today.
