GERMAN FLEET

ATTACKED BY BRITISH BOMBERS NEAR/ENTRANCE TO KIEL CANAL. DIRECT HITS ON BATTLESHIP. A radio report states that the Royal Air Force bombed German warships near the entrance to the Kiel Canal. Several direct hits were obtained on a German battleship. A later report states that the raid was carried out in unfavourable weather conditions. The British planes met with anti-aircraft fire and were attacked, by German machines. There were some casualties among the British planes.
