The Primary Products Marketing Department has received a cable message from London stating that after consultation with the Food Defence J Plan Department, the London Provi,sion Exchange has requested the trade to hold prices of butter and cheese at theii- present level until further notice. The price of New Zealand salted butter in London on Friday was quoted at 124 s to 125 s a cwt, compared with 121 s to 122 s on August 25, an advance of 3s a cwt. The latest quotation is 2s a cwt above that ruling a year ago. The sterling equivalent of the New Zealand guaranteed price is 124 s 3d.
